What Makes Us Unique?

Technical Solutions Experts

Our team of Technical Solution Experts have an extensive amount of expertise and experience in appraising buildings. Once the current energy performance within a building is understood, the team develop the most appropriate installation measures and cost options for each project. They identify and quantify opportunities pre and post installation, and provide on-going technical support, throughout the duration of the programme and post contract.

It was heartening to observe the works undertaken at Llandysul being funded under the Arbed 2 initiative by Fortem (formerly Willmott Dixon Support Services), which delivered a well thought through scheme, with the careful selection of correct products and a level of quality control on site I have rarely encountered. It is always too easy to offer criticism on jobs that have been done poorly, but sometimes it is worth recognising changes in industry practice that provide comfort that the changes required are slowly but surely gathering momentum.

Colin King, Director of BRE (Building Research Establishment)

Monitoring & Education

Our team ensure residents/customers fully understand how to use and maintain the measures installed in their homes/we educate building users on new and emerging technologies and provide an effective advice and after care service.

Following completion, building usage is monitored to check the difference in energy use. The feedback data is used to influence future projects, whilst setting a standard for improving the performance and comfort of older homes in the UK.

Our priority has been to focus on maximising the performance of the building fabric itself and taking a holistic view of the impact of the changes. We are looking forward to finding out more about the results of the pilot and demonstrating to others what can be achieved.

Fuel Poverty

We are well placed through the works we deliver to identify those who may be in fuel poverty. We provide support to residents/customers, which includes advice with regards to energy efficiency in their home, delivering energy efficiency awareness events within the community and working with third parties such as Age UK and the End Fuel Poverty Coalition to deliver consistent messages.

Before the work was carried out, the house was cold and draughty. I would have to use a lot of blankets in the winter to keep myself warm—now I only need one. I’m content and happy here, and enjoy listening to the radio and watching the soaps in a warm and comfortable home.

My heating bills have come down considerably, especially this month. I have a smart meter and can see the difference in the warmth in my home. The rendering system has made the property look 100% better, I am delighted with the finished look.
